Le sensazioni, le emozioni e i pensieri sono così tanti e complessi che la loro sommatoria tende all’immobilità, all’assenza. Evento sincronico oggetto d’indagine.

The sensations, emotions, and thoughts are so numerous and complex that their sum tends towards stillness, absence. So, I bring my attention to one element at a time, isolating it. I seek a clue in nature, in the birdsong, observing the other human beings around me. The place where I sit is stunning, vibrating at my own frequency, it is my gateway. The bench is worn, rusty, rickety, and has taken on an ideal shape for my back. Time has molded it so that it could welcome me today. Above me, there’s a Caccamo tree that takes me back to my childhood. The Caccamo is somewhat my sacred tree. Its fruits are already there, the ones I used as a child for my blowpipe. At its base, an anthill, like the ones I’ve always observed throughout my life, since I was a child. It represents the social and collaborative aspect of this existence. Around the tree and within its shadow circle, there’s enough sunny space to keep others at a proper distance, so they don’t bother me.

A meter away from me, there’s a dented trash bin, in perfect harmony with the place and still fulfilling its function. To my left, at a distance, the playground with children playing. Their neutral and high-pitched voices, the happiness of being, in their perception, the absence of time and space. Free and uncontrolled energy. All interrupted by the intervention of anxious parents, polluting the purity of their activities, imposing constraints on their expansion. Each intrusion, each interference is like a branding iron, indelible, a denied possibility, a veil placed to cover their consciousness until one day they lose that perception.

To my right, the library, the place where events are held, a symbol of adulthood. I hear applause, shrill, rough, and intrusive shouts. There, time and space rule, along with rules and structures, partiality and compromise, the mediocrity of this existence. From behind, I hear the tolls of a bell that inform me of the passing of time, in case I forget. In front of me, at the center of the dirt clearing, the base of a column that is no longer there. It symbolizes the roots, the foundations from which everything can be built. The space it once occupied is now empty, to be filled with infinite possibilities. Its shape is cubic (Muladhara), and above it, the hint of what will be, what could be. In the portion of space delimited by the shadow of the Caccamo tree, I find a playing card, one of those lightweight ones used by magicians. It’s a seven of flowers. A synchronistic event subject to investigation.
